5th CRITICS Workshop

The 2018 CRITICS Summer Workshop will take place at University College Cork (UCC), Cork, Ireland, during 27-31 August 2018.

The Theme
The theme of the workshop is Critical transitions or Tipping points. The main focus of the meeting is on characterizing and predicting the occurrence of sudden and unexpected changes in the state of complex systems that are triggered by small and slow changes in changing external trends or inputs.  The topics will range from mathematical theory of critical transitions to examples from the natural world (e.g. climate, biology, ecology), technology and society.
